A catch-all mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to inactive email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss emails because the other side has an out-of-date email address or has made a typo. The disadvantage of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of junk email messages, but this issue can be solved using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also important to bear in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound messages to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

In case you host a domain name on our cloud platform and you have a web hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all feature for any mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section offers quite a few functions, but it’s really user-friendly, so setting up a catch-all mailbox takes just a mouse click. All the email addresses that you’ve got will be displayed in this section alphabetically and you will simply need to click the "Catch-all" button for the specific address. Our system will notify you if there is already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain or if the one that you’d like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either turn off the latter feature or choose a different mailbox. Disabling the catch-all option is just as easy and takes one more mouse click on the exact same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all option can be enabled without any difficulty if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with our company. All the email addresses that you’ve set up using the domains hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be displayed in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will notice a mini logo conveniently located directly next to each of them. With only a mouse click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your liking on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with the option already activated and there isn't active email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on an email address and enable the feature using the context menu that will pop up. In case any of the conditions for creating a catch-all mailbox is not met, our system will notify you, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
